Connections Coordinator



The connections ministry of Crossroads Bible Church has been expanding to encompass a number of welcome ministries: “A” boards, parking lot, welcome tents, curb and door greeters, roamers, 2 welcome centers, 2 cafés, guest service, ushers, 2 prayer teams, pastry, coffee and follow-up teams. We are looking for someone to give oversight and direction to grow and develop the Connections ministry.

The purpose of the Connections Coordinator is to provide overall direction of the guest experience, from first impressions to follow up of guests to membership process. In addition, the Coordinator would recruit and train volunteers and provide support for the programs/ministries/ events within the Connections Ministry. The Coordinator will also provide input into and oversight of the assimilation process, including guest/member experience and the connections classes (101-Membership; 201-Spiritual Habits; 301-SHAPE for Ministry; 401-Conversations that Matter).



  • Welcome Team Ministry
    • Develop and grow the Welcome Team 
    • Manage contact info and name tags for volunteers
    • Coordinate scheduling of police officers
    • Coordinate volunteers and touch base with group leaders for the Parking, Connections Center, Prayer Team, Prayer Room, Café, Guest Services, Guest Reception, Door Greeter, and Starting Point ministries
  • Pastoral Support
    • Connect Pastors to shepherding and counseling resources when requested
  • Membership
    • Coordinate Membership (101), Spiritual Fitness (201), Discovering Your SHAPE for Ministry (301), and Evangelism classes (401)
    • Generate flyers and posters
    • Correspondence
    • Prepare and update booklets
    • Take photos, prepare name tags, certificates, and welcome letters
    • Coordinate meals
    • Coordinate childcare
    • Coordinate Baptism classes and ceremony logistics with pastors
    • Coordinate Elder interviews
    • Coordinate Right Hand of Fellowship
  • Manages Realm records as assigned
  • Manages incoming connections phone calls, answer questions, and provide information
  • May receive, resolve, or refer member questions
  • May attend training seminars to enhance assimilation skills


Organizational Relationships

  • Accountability
    • Directly accountable to the Connections Pastor. In his absence, accountable to the Executive Director
  • Classification and Hours
    • Non-exempt. Hourly.
    • Full-time, 40 hours weekly, semi-flexible with approval of supervisor
    • Sunday hours required, 8:00am - 1:00 pm
  • Staff Relationships
    • May help with other church administrative tasks as available
  • Ministry Relationships
    • May attend appropriate Task Group meetings as part of working hours if deemed necessary by the Pastor of Connections



  • Shall demonstrate a godly character as outlined in Scripture (1 Timothy 3, Titus 2)
  • Shall have ability to keep confidences
  • Shall have knowledge of general office practice and business English
  • Shall have good organizational skills and ability to work on own initiative
  • Shall have good word processing skills. Desktop layout and other graphic design experience is desirable. Microsoft Office software is CBC standard.
  • Shall have an ability to work with others with a gracious spirit and demonstrate empathy as evidenced in first encounters with people
  • Shall have a teachable and open attitude
  • Shall demonstrate a commitment to the doctrinal statement and to the statement of strategy and vision of Crossroads Bible Church
  • Shall be a regular attender or member of Crossroads Bible Church


Policy Maintenance

Upon approval, the Executive Director has the responsibility for the initiation and update of this job description; and has the responsibility for its implementation.
