OUr CORE Values
Core values describe the essential characteristics of biblical discipleship in our faith family.
A passionate pursuit of these values will help us achieve our mission of building a community to change the world.
God designs us for worship, and indeed, we all worship something--either the Creator or something in his creation. God delights in true worship, as we respond with all our heart, soul and mind. As individual worshippers, we experience joy when we declare the worth of our glorious God in a lifestyle of reverential awe and adoration. When we gather as the church, we are transformed when we worship God together through praise, prayer, giving, communion, baptism and the teaching of God’s Word.
God designs us to live lives connected with one another, not isolated. The local church is not merely a place we attend but a people to whom we belong, much like a family. In authentic community life, we encourage one another to grow in faith, we care for and support each other in love, and we work together to pursue our mission of advancing the Kingdom.
God calls us to grow in maturity, equipping us through his Word and his people, in the power of the Holy Spirit to live lives that bring him glory. We must intentionally dig deep spiritual wells through teaching, training and personal spiritual disciplines that change us from the inside out and enable us to become more like Jesus Christ. As growing disciples, we are called to disciple and equip others to live a fruitful walk with Christ.
God calls us to serve one another, generously giving of our time, abilities and resources. The Holy Spirit has given each one gifts to be used in the church to build others up. By humbly cleansing the feet of His disciples, Jesus gave an abiding example of service and issued a command for us to follow in His steps. We were saved that we might humbly serve the body of Christ, rather than merely being served.
God calls us to reach out in love to our neighbors, both near and far, demonstrating his love for the world. Sharing the mission of Jesus Christ to seek and save the lost is his Great Commission for us. Our heart is that people see the hope we have in Christ through our actions and our words, igniting in them a desire to know him for themselves.
