Expanding Kids and Community for Eternal Growth

Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. The farmer
waits for the precious produce of the soil, being patient about it, until it
gets the early and late rains. You too be patient; strengthen your hearts,
for the coming of the Lord is near.

James 5:7-8

As we near the completion of construction for Sow to Reap, we are filled with gratitude for God’s faithfulness. Just a year ago, we were fundraising—and now these new spaces are becoming a reality!

With Thanksgiving approaching, it seems especially fitting to gather and thank God for all He has done.
We would love for you to join us on the evening of Sunday, November 15, as we celebrate what God has provided and look ahead to how these spaces will serve kids, families, and our community.

Our Sow to Reap Celebration begins at 6:15 PM, followed by heavy appetizers, dessert, fun giveaways, and an opportunity to tour the Kids Zone and other remodeled spaces.

For those interested, we’ll also offer an optional 4:00 PM screening of The Story of Everything. The film explores discoveries in cosmology, physics, and biology that point toward purpose and intelligent design in our universe. You’re welcome to come for both or simply join us at 6:15 PM for the celebration!

You’ll find the full schedule and additional details on the registration page. Children are welcome, though childcare will not be provided.

Sow to Reap Update: Fall Update

October 31, 2026

Our new Kids Zone is OPEN!

Fall Kickoff on September 13 marked an exciting milestone as we officially opened our newly renovated Kids Zone for Crossroads Kids. With the portables behind us, children from birth through 5th grade now learn in engaging spaces filled with Scripture, whimsical Pacific Northwest animals, and stunning planets that point to the creativity and glory of God.

With an integrated AV system, state-of-the-art technology, a Galactic Worship Center, and security incorporated throughout the design, we are excited to see how God uses this space to raise the next generation as we continue to “build disciples to bring Jesus to our world.”

And this space will serve far more than Sunday mornings. It is already being used for Rooted Kids on Wednesday nights, Women’s Ministry childcare on Tuesdays, MomCo on Thursdays, and two homeschool groups throughout the week.

There is still more to come! Additional artwork will be installed over the next several weeks, including Wonderment Park, anticipated in November. And as you walk through the space, be sure to notice the lenticular artwork illustrating the Days of Creation and the multiplanes of the forest and ocean - all with Pacific Northwest animals.

$10.9 Million Received! Praise God!

We’re celebrating an exciting milestone: Sow to Reap is nearing another major milestone with $10.9 million received! Because of your extraordinary generosity, we were able to complete the Kids Zone renovation on budget and entirely without taking on debt for that phase of the project. We are deeply grateful for every gift, every pledge, and every family that has chosen to invest in what God is doing through Crossroads.

Many of you have generously chosen to front-load your giving, and we are deeply grateful. Your early contributions make a huge difference: they allow us to delay drawing from our construction loan, which functions like a line of credit. That means we have saved significantly on interest, freeing more dollars to go directly toward building ministry impact rather than paying the bank. Thank you for giving boldly and early; your generosity is already multiplying the reach of this project.

Award-Winning Creativity Behind the Kids Zone

The creative vision behind our new Kids Zone grew from a meaningful collaboration between Bill Smith of Storyline Studio and illustrator Mark Oliver. Bill and Mark previously worked together on the immersive FAMily Discovery Center at the First Americans Museum in Oklahoma City, creating an environment designed to invite curiosity, imagination, and discovery.

That project has since received international recognition, including honors for Mark’s illustration work from the World Illustration Awards and the V&A Illustration Awards in London.

We’re grateful that Bill and Mark have brought that same thoughtful, imaginative approach to Crossroads. Their artwork throughout Kids Zone—from Pacific Northwest wildlife to planets and the story of creation—helps create a sense of wonder while continually pointing children toward the creativity and glory of God.

What’s Next? Community Spaces!

If you’ve been on campus recently, you’ve probably noticed that the north end of the building is very much a work in progress. So don’t get too attached to the caution tape behind the coffee tables, the retro-Seahawk blue floor protection in the foyer, or the stark fluorescent lighting that currently greets you on your way through! Significant progress is happening behind those construction walls, and we hope to re-stage them soon so you can begin to see more of what’s taking shape.

By end of November, we expect several new community spaces to be ready. The Connect Center will feature a central fireplace, along with plenty of tables and comfortable seating designed for conversation and connection. The new Pine Room will open directly onto the outdoor plaza and include a small kitchen, cozy furnishings, and flexible space designed especially with Community Groups in mind.

Our former Fireside Room—now without the fireplace—will become the Evergreen Room, with an upgraded AV system that will make it an ideal gathering space for some of our largest groups. And the smaller Cascara Room will have the feel of a welcoming family room, complete with its own small kitchen area for shared meals and time together.

And yes, we all miss our main entrance! By the end of the year, it will return in a much more welcoming form, with a wider, more attractive entry and a new outdoor plaza designed to create a warm first impression and more space for people to gather.

Why Sow to Reap?

Sow to Reap is a bold step of faith focused on expanding two of our most vital ministries: Kids and Community. Our theme, “Sow to Reap,” is rooted in the biblical principle that faithful sowing into God’s work produces a bountiful spiritual harvest.

Why Kids? - At Crossroads, one of our core values is to invest in the next generation. Thus, creating a safe, engaging, and theologically rich environment for children lays a foundation for lifelong faith.

Why Community? - At CBC, we value caring community. We recognize our growing need for functional spaces where communities can gather and grow in discipleship.

Specifically, Sow to Reap will focus on two key areas:

  • Kids Zone Renovation – A complete renovation designed to disciple children in a vibrant, safe, and wonder-filled space.

  • Community Space Enhancements – Interior improvements to provide welcoming, functional spaces for groups to gather and grow while also transforming our building’s exterior to better reflect the warmth, hospitality, and excellence of our church family.

But Sow to Reap is not just about new walls, rooms, or spaces—It is about creating an environment where kids encounter Jesus, where guests feel seen and welcomed, and where community groups can flourish. Sow to Reap is expanding kids and community for eternal growth.

In John 4:35, Jesus said, “Lift up your eyes and see that the fields are white for harvest.” The spiritual harvest is ready, but there is work to be done! Sow to Reap represents the necessary work needed to bring in the harvest.

We want to hear from you.

As we walk forward, your questions and reflections are a vital part of the journey, and we warmly invite you to share them with us. We invite you to fill out this questionnaire or email sowtoreap@cbcbellevue.com.
